While its true that there is a hiccup in activity across the mining and resources industry, opportunities still abound in the construction contractor space. Already awarded projects mean that there are plenty of options for those willing to FIFO and dedicate themselves to 2 year plus projects, but having said that we have locally based SEQ Qld!
Due to the financial stress occurring globally, there has never been a time where costs and contract administration has been more critical. Our clients are well aware of this and have tasked us with seeking talented and professional Contracts Administrators to manage the financial and contractual aspects of 4 Civil Projects, a few Circa CV$50m and a few more CV$400m+!
Reporting to the Commercial Managers, the candidates will be responsible for
Draft explanatory materials to accompany requests for quotations from sub-contractors for projects.
Conduct initial negotiations with sub-contractors to clarify the organisation’s conditions relating to contracts for prospective projects.
Participate in the review and pre-selection of tenders.
Maintain a register of sub-contractors.
Process and recommend progress claims for work completed and refer disputed claims by sub-contractors to the Commercial Manager for decision.
Ensure that supply orders and subcontract agreements are properly reviewed and authorised prior to issue.
Assist the Commercial Manager in the preparation of financial reports for the Project including Cost Reports and Cash Flow Forecasts.
Assist in the preparation of variation notifications and prepare, submit and finalise variation amounts with Clients Representative.
And other duties as required.
Ideally, qualifications in finance/construction/engineering or related tertiary background with project experience would suit together with a thorough understanding of working in a team and the complexities of working on a large, fast tracked project.
